Ingredients

  • 12 count pretzel rods
  • 2 lbs melting chocolate/candy melts
  • 24 count candy eyes
  • Candy corn

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper.
  2. Melt ½ lb of melting chocolate according to the package instructions.
  3. Use the backside of a spoon to smear 1 teaspoon of melted chocolate in a circle on the wax paper.
  4. Quickly arrange 8 candy corn pieces on top of the chocolate circle, leaving room for the pretzel rod. Repeat until you have 12 candy corn feather sets.
  5. Cut the yellow and white ends off 12 pieces of candy corn, keeping the orange candy corn pieces aside.
  6. Melt another ½ lb of melting chocolate and transfer it to a heat-safe glass or tall mug.
  7. Dip pretzel rods in the melted chocolate, covering half of the rod.
  8. Use a butter knife to distress the chocolate so it looks rough and turkey-like.
  9. Place two candy eyeballs and an orange candy corn turkey beak near the top of the pretzel to finish the turkey face. Allow to dry on wax paper.
  10. Repeat until you have finished preparing 12 pretzel turkey bodies.
  11. Spoon 1 teaspoon of the remaining melted chocolate into the center of each feather set.
  12. Place a turkey body on top of the melted chocolate in the center of the tail feathers.
  13. Allow the chocolate turkey to dry completely then remove it from the wax paper.
