Why you’ll love this recipe

These Pumpkin Pie Turkeys are not only incredibly fun to make with the kids, but they also bring a charming touch to any Thanksgiving gathering. With minimal prep time and baked without any fuss, they effortlessly combine dessert and decor. Whether you're hosting or bringing a dish to a friend's potluck, these little delights will quickly become a tradition you'd look forward to every year.

Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch pumpkin pie
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips (melted)
  • 4 mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
  • 8 candy eyeballs
  • 2 orange Reese's Pieces (halved)
  • 20 candy corn

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Using a 1.5-inch biscuit cutter, cut out circles in the pumpkin pie.
  2. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave for approximately 30 seconds or until soft. Unwrap the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
  3. Using melted chocolate, attach a Peanut Butter Cup to the pumpkin pie narrow side down on the lower half of the circle.
  4. On top of the Peanut Butter Cup, attach two candy eyeballs with melted chocolate. Then take half a Reese's Piece and attach it longways under the eyes with chocolate to make the beak.
  5. Place 5 pieces of candy corn at the top of the circle to form tail feathers, narrow side pointing down.
  6. Let the chocolate harden in the refrigerator for 5 minutes and serve!

Recipe tips & variations

If you're pressed for time, using a store-bought pumpkin pie works perfectly—it'll save some steps without compromising on taste. Alternatively, if you're looking for a nut-free version, swap out the Reese's Pieces and Cups for chocolate buttons and candy-covered chocolates. You can get creative with the candy "tail feathers" too, using colorful alternatives like gummy candies or chocolate kisses.

Storage & reheating

To keep your Pumpkin Pie Turkeys fresh, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. They taste best when served at room temperature, so let them warm up a bit after taking them out of the fridge. Avoid reheating them in the oven, as the candies can melt—a simple rest on the counter is all they need.
